Leading digital media company, etv media group has signed up Ex-EastEnder and Strictly Come Dancing star, Chris Parker, to join the presenting team on Gala TV from Friday, 5 June 2009.
I submitted an idea to a broadcaster last year and heard nothing back. Recently I noticed a programme on air which is remarkably similar. Can anything be done about it?
The short answer is that you probably cannot do anything. There is minimal legal protection for formats under UK copyright law. But in any event, you would need to be able to establish that the broadcaster has substantially copied the idea you submitted.
